A true labour of love for both authors: a large-format book in 2 volumes, each with over 500 pages, with lots of unpublished photos, documents, essays, etc. plus a DVD with rare private recordings and behind-the-scenes material. Volume 1 will be released in October 2024 (you can order your copy now in our shop). Volume 2 is scheduled for release in 2025.
With both books, the authors want to create a `memorial´ to Stan & Ollie and their collaboration, which was characterised by mutual respect and close friendship, and to keep the two comedy geniuses alive. `LAUREL AND HARDY: A TRUE LOVE STORY - THE PICTORIAL HISTORY OF STAN & OLLIE: THEIR LIFE AND WORK´ – Two volumes for anyone interested in film history, or simply wanting to know more about Stan & Ollie's lives in front of and behind the camera.
And because a picture is worth a thousand words, the books will be printed on the finest paper and will contain thousands of photos, documents, drawings, etc. from the original sources that have never been seen before, or very rarely, but never in such high resolution quality. And in many cases never in such a large format! All of this is graphically very elaborate and really nice to look at.
Volume 1 – and later on Volume 2 - will also include many rare or never-before-seen photographs, coloured for this project by international artists, as well as many specially produced drawings by the internationally renowned and award-winning artist Robert Nippoldt.
